There have been recent calls for Ghanaian churches to start paying taxes. Ghana's tax code like many other countries however gives some laxitude to religious and other charitable organisations. This mandate is however ambiguous given the actuality that contemporary Ghanaian churches have become more dynamic and engage in a lot more activities than what their core role formally was. Given this realism do you think these calls are well founded? If they are to be heeded where do we draw the line between what income generating activity is taxable and what is not?
